Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr speaks on Nigeria AFCON loss, says "It was a big fight until the last minute"


Super Eagles of Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr has reacted to the big lost against the Algeria national team in a  semi-final game at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations played last night at Cairo international stadium, Egypt.
Riyad Mahrez, manchester City player scored a winning free-kick for the Desert Foxes at the die minutes of the added extra time to take his country to the final clash of the competition. 
The head coach of Nigeria team, Rohr speaking on the outcome of the match, said: "It was a big fight until the last minute, it was a wonderful match, I think my players wanted it to go to extra-time thinking Algeria were more tired," Rohr said 
"We scored an own goal, unlucky, but we have come back every time in this tournament and this time we came back on a penalty.
"But a wonderful free-kick from a football genius made the difference." He added
Nigeria will play their third place match on Wednesday against Tunisia while Algeria will face Senegal in the final on Friday night.
